iiNet – Hosted Exchange Decommissioning

Australian internet service provider, iiNet, has announced that it will be discontinuing its Hosted Microsoft Exchange service for businesses. The service, which allowed customers to manage their email, contacts, and calendars, will close on April 30, 2023.

According to iiNet’s website, the decision to discontinue the service was made due to changing market conditions and the need to focus on other areas of the business. iiNet is encouraging customers to transition to other email services.

For customers who wish to migrate their data from Hosted Microsoft Exchange to another email service, iiNet is providing instructions on its website on how to do so. The process involves exporting data from Hosted Microsoft Exchange and importing it into the new email service.

The news of the discontinuation of Hosted Microsoft Exchange has come as a surprise to some iiNet customers, who have expressed disappointment on social media. However, others have noted that the service has been declining in popularity in recent years, with many businesses switching to cloud-based email services such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

If you are one of the huge number of iiNet customers affected by this service closure, Fluccs offers a Hosted Exchange alternative solution called Smartermail, which has all the features & functionality of Microsoft Exchange at a lower cost! Our team will also assist with the smooth transition to our service in every way possible.
